Sea Shepherd has just acquired a new vessel which will strengthen our fleet and expand our field of action.
This ship will be called Jairo Mora Sandoval, in honor of the
of the young 26-year-old environmentalist, brutally murdered on the beach of Playa Moin in Costa Rica last May, while patrolling to protect turtle eggs from poaching. We will present the ship to the public in August.
Prior to being assassinated, Jairo had received several death threats. He had warned the police but had never ceased his activity in favor of the turtles.
“We do not want the name of this courageous and passionate young man to be forgotten and we hope this tribe will help keep his memory alive,” said Captain Paul Watson.
Captain Watson is also offering a $ 30 reward for any information that will allow Justice to apprehend the murderers of Jairo Mora Sandoval who are still running today.
