Rémi Masson was born in the heart of the Alps, in Annecy, in 1983. Parallel to biology studies, which he will continue to become a professor of Life Sciences and Earth, he undertakes the exploration of the fresh waters of his native region to reveal through the image the hidden beauties. By choice, it dive exclusively in apnea.
His images, published regularly in the national press and abroad, have also been awarded several prizes including the last in the prestigious 2012 GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest.
Dives in often under-explored environments are also an opportunity to learn more about the behavior of some freshwater fish.
He is thus at the origin, in collaboration with the researcher Frédéric Santoul of the University of Toulouse, of the first scientific study on the phenomenon of catfish assemblages in the Rhône river.
This book retraces 15 years of diving under the surface of mountain lakes, torrents, underground rivers, large alpine lakes, the Rhone river ... to discover the creatures that live there and surprising landscapes.
The preface is signed Francis Le Guen.
