More than ever, the oceans and their treasures attract and fascinate ... The numbers prove it: for its 15th anniversary, the International Underwater Diving Show recorded a new increase of 2% of the number of visitors and 15% of its exhibitors. A success that is also explained by the relevance of the themes selected for each edition, revealing the incredible mosaic of practitioners that brings this leisure-passion.
FAMILY DIVING
Women were in the spotlight in 2012, freediving and its champions in 2013… The 2014 edition will underline the public's enthusiasm for family diving. Originally an initiate discipline, technological developments have made it accessible to all and family diving is proving to be a great vector of discovery and sharing. For Hélène de Tayrac, President and founder of the Salon, the choice of this theme was moreover naturally imposed since, herself at the head of a reconstituted family, it is with her children that she now shares her passion.
2014 PROGRAM
On the program of the next annual meeting for diving enthusiasts, activities will therefore be particularly dedicated to discovering the underwater environment in tribes, while exhibitors, equipment suppliers, clubs and associations, tour operators and tourist offices will offer family offers. new and exclusively reserved for visitors. And since at the International Scuba Diving Show, these visitors are also actors, a large photo competition on the theme of “the family” has already been launched. You can already discover the modalities on the site www.salon-de-la-plongee.com. To your photos!
LAURENT BALLESTA: SPONSOR 2014
Another fundamental element of the success of such an event, the choice of its sponsors. After the biologist Sandra Bessudo in 2012, the freedivers Pierre Frolla and Sophie Jacquin last year, Laurent Ballesta, great figure of the study of the submarine environment and talented portraitist of his fabulous bestiary, will be the godfather of the 16th edition of the International Exhibition of Diving. He will present a preview of his book on Coelacanth and a large exhibition of photographs dedicated to this species from the depths of time and is one of the most enigmatic creatures that inhabit the oceans.
Practicalities
The 16th edition of the International Underwater Diving Show will be held from 10 to 12 January 2014 in Paris - Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles.
