The ANMP, National Association of Diving Instructors, is relaunching this year the title of Guide de la Mer: a quality label for diving professionals, since its creation, with reference to High Mountain Guides.
QUALITY LABEL FOR PROFESSIONALS IN DIVING
All the guides of the sea are diving instructors: but to date, they are only 200 able to take advantage of this "plus", a title which emphasizes both the quality of the reception, and the respect the marine environment. And this year in the spring, the National Council ofANMPshould multiply nominations.
IN REFERENCE TO HIGH MOUNTAIN GUIDES
The Guides of the Sea were created at the same time as theANMP in 1972 by reference to Mountain Guides. The title of "Guide of the Sea", initiated by Daniel Mercier, founding president, then valorized a capital of knowledge and experiences recognized by theANMP, based on the charter established by the association. Internships complemented the traditional training of instructors, and fill the gaps of the BEES, particularly in terms of protection of the marine world. Since then, the BEES has evolved, but the spirit of the Guides of the Sea has remained.
A TITLE BASED ON THE SIGNATURE OF THE CHARTER
“In accordance with the Charter, explains Pascal Célestin, administrative director of the association, the application for the title of Guide de la Mer is only accessible to members with at least two years of seniority at theANMP, with presentation of proof of professional practice and after validation by the National Council ofANMP. Of course, the signing of the Charter is the major element of access to the title by which the instructor commits to aspects related to the quality of the reception and its services, to the environment, to the hygiene and safety. "
COMMITMENTS TO RESPECT
The Sea Guide must pay particular attention to the quality of the welcome given to its customers, without exception. Respect for the environment and the underwater living environment. In this context, it supports local initiatives for the protection of the natural environment in which it conducts its professional activity. To all aspects of health and safety for the clientele for which he is responsible as well as for his attendants and for himself. To the updating of his professional skills. Respect for any type of charter or commitment put in place by theANMP, in the spirit of professional ethics and the quality of services.
