Indeed, historical partner of TOPDIVE, etahititravel.pf is a travel agency based in Tahiti since 2002. Its team of 100% local specialists offers visitors verified, up-to-date and detailed information on Tahiti and her islands. Whether you are looking for a romantic destination for your honeymoon, an extraordinary stay, a cruise, accommodation in the islands of Polynesia or wonderful dive sites, E TAHITI TRAVEL is at your disposal to prepare a memorable and magical vacation.
POLYNESIA
Tahiti and her islands are located approximately 17100 km from mainland France. They extend over a maritime territory of 4 million km ², that is to say the surface of Europe.
The surface of the emerged lands distributed in 118 islands covers for its part 4000 km ². The 118 islands, sumptuous and all different, are grouped into five archipelagos with very marked characters. Hospitality here being a tradition and an art of living, Polynesians welcome relatives and friends when they get off the plane or boat with scented flower necklaces. And it is with shell necklaces, non-ephemeral those, that they will say goodbye to them when one of them leaves the island.
Isolated in the heart of the great Pacific Ocean, Polynesia's geographical location offers some of the most magnificent dive sites in the world, rich in encounters with large pelagics and rare species, in particularly welcoming and crystal-clear waters.
Tahiti and her islands are certainly the most beautiful diving destinations in the world. Lagoons, drop offs, passes, no diving in Polynesia is like the other. From the Marquesas to the Austral Islands, from the Windward Islands to the Tuamotus, the spots each have their own curiosities and specificity in store for you and your amazement alone will remain unchanged.
THE TUAMOTU ARCHIPELAGO: between sky and sea
The Tuamotu archipelago, between sky and ocean, is a set of low islands, the atolls, enclosed by their lagoon by a coral belt. It is the largest of the Polynesian archipelagos whose 76 islands and atolls, scattered over more than 20 km², are characterized in particular by three dominant colors, blue, white and green, and by the sumptuous turquoise gradient of the lagoons. It is an environment conducive to the cultivation of mother-of-pearl and a must-see diving destination due to the richness of its sites. Far from the city bustle, the Tuamotus embody all the paradisiacal myth that the Robinson Crusoe dreams of in each of us. It is the total change of scenery, in symbiosis with the natural marine elements, between sky and sea, where man relearns to live out of time.
Seasons
All year round you will admire pelagic, reef or lagoon sharks - grays, lemons, hammers, tigers, nurses, black tips, white tips, silky, bordered,… - dolphins, humpback whales, rainbow trevally, turtles, wrasse, leopard rays, eagle rays, barracudas, morays, manta rays and other tropical or pelagic fish.
- End of June, beginning of July: reproduction of groupers in Manihi and Fakarava
- From June to October: more manta rays
- July to November: humpback whales
- From December to March: observation of great hammerhead sharks and schools of eagle rays more frequent.
RANGIROA: the infinite lagoon for an aquatic safari
A little over an hour by plane from Tahiti, Rangiroa is an immense atoll, the largest in Polynesia, so large that it could contain the entire island of Tahiti. True natural and prodigious aquarium, it is one of the most beautiful and richest sites in the world.
Rangiroa is the unmissable meeting place for divers from all over the world who discover unforgettable and magical dives. From the first dive to the exploration of the lagoon, the passes and the reefs falling from the ocean, beginners and experienced divers will be dazzled by the abundance of underwater fauna and the diversity of the sites.
The island's hotels and guesthouses are practically all grouped together on the main island between Tiputa and Avatoru, with the exception of the wonderful Kia Ora Sauvage, an extraordinary concept, to live in total harmony with nature.
An air connection of barely an hour serves Rangiroa several times a day from Tahiti.
Our favorite: the KIA ORA hotels and the Kia Ora Sauvage
FAKARAVA NORD: between sky and sea, the mecca of diving
Fakarava is a protected atoll which is part of a biosphere reserve classified by UNESCO, with rare fauna and flora which testify to the richness of this ecosystem to the delight of divers. The northern pass of Garuae is the widest in Polynesia - 1 m - and it allows the observation of "big fauna" in drift dives and exceptional coral reefs.
Accommodation in family pensions will immerse you in an authentic atmosphere, an absolute change of scenery is guaranteed.
Our favorite: Havaiki
SOUTH FAKARAVA
The island's flagship activity, diving offers pristine sites and the grandiose spectacle of the best diving spots in the world where lagoon and pelagic animals meet. On the giant limestone roses of the narrow southern pass of Tumakohua, confetti fish are deployed in the middle of canyons lined with corals, places of refuge for the “rairas”, the gray reef sharks.
Large hammerhead sharks are much more common between December and March in the Tiputa pass to Rangiroa.
Our favorite: Motu AÏto.
