Aqua Lung entrusted its subsidiary to Yvon Coupannec, a former demining expert and military and logistics adviser in the Middle East. Having lived many years on the sector he has a perfect knowledge of the local market.

However the real difference lies especially in the quality of the team that composes Aqua Lung Egypt and our organization to stick to the Red Sea market. We focus on the availability of equipment throughout the year, on a policy of effective maintenance and attentive after-sales service and on a high level of rigor in the commitments of the brand to its customers.

The idea was that a European customer of Aqua Lung forgets that he is in Egypt by pushing the door of the showroom in Hurghada. Our distributor was not able to maintain at the level the different parameters that make the quality of our brand, hence the decision in 2008 to operate the installation of a subsidiary to ensure distribution locally.

This obviously has a cost and requires integrating the complexity of “Eastern” relationships while retaining our Western standards. If we have achieved the envied position of market leader on the Red Sea, we must not forget the many obstacles that the subsidiary has had to face over the past 2 years with the profound upheavals in the Egyptian political and economic scene.

Finally, while remaining resolutely optimistic, I consider that now more than ever Egypt must remain a privileged destination for European divers because it is the best destination 5 hours by plane from the major European capitals and this 12 month of year. And since fish do not have a beard !!!!!! ”
