It was during the last Diving Show that we discovered this iDRY suit as well as its Spanish importer Marc Jimenez, boss of the company Blue Infinite. This company has been the exclusive importer for Europe of PROBE products manufactured by the brand of the same name for 20 years in Australia.
We presented it to you “dry”, in a previous Le Mag -> “The iDRY wetsuit that dries in 10 minutes”, Marc offered to test it in a natural environment. As soon as we said, immediately done, it was in Cape Verdean waters that we were able to jump into the water ...
idry: DRY TEST
On this 1st article, we published a video made by the manufacturer, Probe, which showed how quickly this wetsuit dries. Yes, but here we are, we are like you at scuba-people.com ... between bogus opinions, false testimonials, excessively post-produced videos, there is no question of trusting with your eyes closed. We therefore offer you a video made by us, without post-production, without cuts ... only real, concrete, not bogus (except birdsong ... I admit):
This time-lapse video is final. In 4 minutes, the top of the iDRY is dry… CQFD! Besides, we can clearly see the water flowing as soon as I stop watering the wetsuit.
“QUICK-DRY” TECHNOLOGY:
The “moumoute” that lines the inside of this jumpsuit is amazing. Indeed, it is a bit as if Probe had added above the classic thickness, a second layer whose mesh will be looser. It's part of the secret: water flows more easily than in a traditional garment, so it dries much faster.
iDRY: TEST IN WATER
Marc sent in an iDRY 7mm and what immediately surprises is the flexibility of the neoprene. It slips on like a 5… this is another advantage of this “QUICK DRY” technology.
The model sent is super well adjusted and underwater the iDRY is forgotten. The incredible flexibility of the iFLEX 360 ULTRA-STRETCH neoprene, no misplaced seams on this preformed jumpsuit. Although not including sleeves, no untimely entry of water to declare. Underwater is happiness!
But it is during the second dive that the beautiful shows her super-power… it is almost destabilizing… she is dry inside. While your pairs grimace, you leave for the dry! A bit the same feeling as changing wetsuit on every dive!
A LUXURY!
iDRY: PROPRIO's turn
iDRY in detail:
When we talk about a semi-dry suit, it is equipped with the zipper system of dry suits. This is not the case on this iDRY. The manufacturer has chosen to add a neoprene breastplate at the back to ensure a certain seal. Overall it works pretty well. Just a little kick to put on the beast. We have the impression of entering a babygro 😉
The neck is perfectly adjusted thanks to a very effective velcro system.
The “3D-GEL” applied to the shoulders and wrists protects against abrasion and also acts as a “grip” by keeping both the vest and your computer in place.
Placed on the outside of the 2 knees, Probe installed 2 small pockets equipped with wrist straps. The pockets are small but allow you to store a car key for those who dive from the edge, emergency joints ...
The knee protection system is resistant without being disturbing.
PURCHASING ADVICE
I thought the Australians were built like lumberjacks… that doesn't seem to be the case. You will need to take 1 or 2 sizes above what the size chart tells you… You just have to know.
