SEA ORBITER PRESENTED BY JACQUES ROUGERIE
A dream is about to be realized: the Sea Orbiter, oceanographer's vessel, without equivalent, could sail tomorrow on the seas and the oceans.
This “floating oceanographic laboratory” project directed by Jacques Rougerie the architect, Jacques Piccard the oceanographer and Jean-Loup Chrétien the astronaut is a semi-submersible, half-boat, half-vessel laboratory that will drift with the currents;
After thirty years of research and experimentation in the field of habitats under the sea, Jacques Rougerie, accompanied by an international team, launches the realization of Sea Orbiter, designed as a mobile underwater house. This vertical vessel is designed to allow the study of marine life 24 hours a day during very long missions.
