Each time we visit Bali, on the Island of the Gods, we go straight to Tulemben or Amed. It was not the case this time, we immediately headed for Mawi and Claire, the bosses of a center called Ikandive. One of the big advantages of Padangbai is the distance, which is just an hour from the airport. After a long flight, it is rather nice to be able to land relatively quickly and to rest a little.
This place is also an excellent choice to go diving if you are in Sanur or if you want to take a short trip to Bali and not just enjoy diving. ”
Mawi and Claire created Ikandive several years ago. Mawi is from PadangbaiIn addition to being the patron of various centers, he has several official roles at the city level. Claire, has an incredible address book. Ikandive is not only a dive center, but a true receptive, who can advise you and organize for you your stay.
Thanks to her knowledge of the city of Bali, Claire will always find you, an authentic good plan, in relation with her family, because Ikandive is above all a big family. '
The center :
Comfortable, we take care of everything for you, from your equipment to rinsing, which has a practical side. There are several super cool guides out there to help you out. Depending on the size of the groups, you can take a more typical banka (for nearby sites) or take a speed boat. The speed boats are well equipped, you are offered water to quench your thirst and lunch is offered at the center after returning from diving. Ikandive is also equipped with its own spa, with the possibility of ending your diving day with an excellent massage.
Manta point and Crystal Bay:
Padangbai is centrally located. These two sites on Nusa Penida stay close although you are still in Bali. After a short navigation, we arrive at Manta Point. You can see a superb arch and the landscape on the surface is enchanting, with its cliffs plunging into the ocean. Obviously, all these rocks cause eddies, but the launch is done quickly. It is a site which is very often animated by strong currents, there is a good quantity of corals and rocks peeled by the current, with also many algae on the rock. After a short wait, the stars are there, magnificent mantas perform a ballet, almost a ritual for us.
Crystal Bay:
This site is well known, because with luck, you can see Molas Molas coming up to be cleaned. You should always have a SMB with you on this site, because the currents are very strong and it is a place which is even sometimes feared by the guides. The arrival of the Molas Molas is not guaranteed, but is regular. It's a bit of a rock 'n' roll dive, but well worth the detour.
Blue Lagoon:
A diving spot located right next to Padang Bai. A small wreck and a beautiful coral garden await you there. You can also find frogsfish, mantis, leaf fish as well as many nudibranch and shrimp. This site is very rich in macro life, very close, very accessible and also well protected in the event of a gale, it is a good place that we recommend.
Ikandive is a good destination because of its location. Its easy access is an asset that should not be overlooked, and can allow you to combine diving with other activities. Ikandive can plan for you various organizations and bookings, all over the island. Their great specialty is to tailor you, whatever your expectations. If you want to travel independently or with your family, this is not to be neglected. In addition, it is always a pleasure to see Claire and Mawi, who are quite representative of the kindness and the clean welcome in Bali.
