There is no doubt, the most beautiful underwater dives are in French Polynesia.
Falling into the deep blue by chance, first in Corsica, with a regulator in my mouth, I quickly shared this passion with hundreds of tourists, by becoming an instructor.
Diving is not only the sensations felt, the impression of freedom, of almost silence between breaths, the sensation of hovering, flying or floating above the majestic drop offs of the Mediterranean or Polynesia. Diving is the school of life, of the attention paid to one's partner or to one's divers, the sharing of experience, the sharing of knowledge, and exchange. Diving is the school of life, underwater, biological, diverse, endemic, fragile, dangerous, fascinating.
Then the need to bring back memories of this underwater world arose. The camera in its waterproof case made this possible. From there, my job changed, my passion grew. The sharing continued in the form of films distributed to divers. Then my collection of images filled hard drives.
Diving destinations have multiplied here in Polynesia. On 128 islands spread over 5 archipelagos, there are some where you can dive ... The best known like Bora Bora where the major underwater interest remains its manta rays, to the most confidential like Manihi in the Tuamotu for the beauty of its coral reef, its reproduction of marbled groupers and convict surgeons, and its manta rays as well.
Rangiroa, another time impressive by its wall of gray sharks, still attracts as much thanks to its colony of tursiops dolphins become sedentary.
Fakarava, an atoll classified as a natural reserve by Unesco, and a jewel for the richness of its fauna and its coral tables. Each lunar cycle offers its surprises.
