How many times, while under water, did you hear the sound of a boat approaching dangerously despite the presence of a buoy on the surface? Every year, especially during the summer season, new cases of divers struck by boat propellers passing near dive sites are reported. And cases of almost accidents or near misses are even more numerous. Boat pilots often ignore the meaning of flags that indicate the presence of divers underwater, or pretend not to see them.

Why not make propeller guards compulsory? Which also protect marine life.
For example
Prop Guard 9 ″ propeller guard - yellow color
Maximum propeller size: 9 ″
Distance between cavitation plate and propeller axis: 110 / 140mm
The only propeller protection capable of offering you:
- Safety for all users and surrounding people.
- Protection of your propeller.
- Increase in the performance of your propeller.
- Reduction of your consumption.
Made of durable materials (polypropylene), high strength and high visibility, it can be easily installed in minutes with basic tools.
The Prop Guard TM has been tested and validated by the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM-CF Paris) and will equip the entire fleet of light intervention boats.
Totally agree with you.
Some dive boats are already equipped for the safety of their divers.
but as we know in France as long as there is no obligation… no investment
So a little information campaign can only help prevent accidents created by boats other than dive boats.
Thanks for the info.
It is a campaign that serves the seabed and the human being for everyone, if in France we must make it compulsory for everyone to be equipped with it, it is still smarter than the balloons which are useless in the cars and which cost a lot of money for nothing. But that's just my opinion
