The mola mola are back! (moon Fish)
I had to do a technical dive N3 on Espingole, a wreck so well known in the bay of Cavalaire.
I do my briefing and decide to give my student the behavior of the group and tell him that he will have to interpret and react according to the signs that I would give him.
Getting into the water and going down quite quickly in the blue, we are making some progress. I decide to give the first sign to my student when I see him gesticulate and show me… something in the blue in the 30m zone. I look… wow !!! A bench of mola mola! About ten ! We remained glued seated on the top of the wreck's boiler to enjoy the show!
In short we are at 40m we should not linger too much, the mola mola seem to know it and slowly move away.
Go a little sign to my student and he assists me during the ascent. I can tell you that mola mola makes zen! If I can judge by the impeccable ascent speed that my student gave me who had orbited me that very morning!
Back on the boat and there I am not telling you the comments to the other teams (who have not seen anything) and to the safety of the boat (which is green for not having dived)
This site, we do it over and over again during the season, and this is the first time that it surprises us so much.
Like what a dive (even on the same site) never looks like another!

I am used to grouping all the “slugs” I encounter under the name “Nudibranchs”.
Thanks to this post I realize my mistake 🙁
Thank you for all these details which make me want to go deeper.
