In fact franck, and I say it nicely lol, even if you wanted to make humor, it seems that it was badly worded, because a priori misunderstood by some…. Everything is open to criticism and fortunately…. as long as we explain things as they are and then we can go further to paroxism…. and on the federation …… I have something to express myself…
I'm sorry to contradict you but the Open Water is much more complete than the N1….
If you dive in a PADI structure and which limits you in your prerogatives .... pass the TEC50 and you will see diving differently http://www.padi.com/scuba/plongee/cours-padi/cours-techniques/default.aspx
By getting to know them, you may see things differently? I know the French mentality is to go down and “twist” in the air, but it's a bit stupid, isn't it? especially on a wreck if you go back up and you have trouble remembering it lol and then also following the good old Gauloise method as soon as you go up 50 or 60 m with a 15l mono where you only spent 5 or 7 ′ at worst, once on the boat a lot of “Ricard”…. This is also what makes Padi successful lol they have something else to offer, re LOL (and I'm not a PADI pro !!)
Padi has a commercial and professional approach to diving, which disturbs the French who have been formatted to the mold of associative clubs which for many of them have not yet discovered Nitrox ...
Now as with everything, it is not for this that they are not exempt from reproach on certain things. Just one last point, the number of PADI commercial structures is increasing in France, is there probably a reason for that?
