Hello,
I am preparing my retraining. Finally I hope it will be about my retraining.
Not easy. 1 month ago, I left my wealthy, well-paid job in a sector that still works.
Since then I have been preparing, running, swimming, bodybuilding, reading the regulations, revising the teaching of diving, ...
I am preparing this new diploma of diving in France, the DEJEPS underwater diving.
I need to talk about it. It feels good. So if you are interested, I will continue to feed this post according to my little adventure.
Kisses to all.
See you soon underwater or elsewhere

Well done, because they are “in poverty”, to use the local expression!
So these selections?
Personally, it's been 2 years since I left CREPS. It's pretty cool but do you really know what the job of an instructor is, the wages, the working period?
it's a dream from the outside but it's far from pink every day especially in summer!
Did you know that after 3 years on average, diving instructors get recycled… That can say a lot!
But good luck to you anyway and maybe we will cross paths… The world of diving is very small!
Hello,
An update of my project.
I am in full core, before making me N4, MF1 (French fashion), and BEES1. All this between now and October 2013.
As you can see, I missed the creps selections for the DEJEPS. It's okay, I go around. And I will succeed.
For once, it costs me less, but c more complicated to organize.
The creps trainers were super pro and allowed me to project myself again.
Kisses to all
Hi Christophe, it's always hard to miss an exam but hey, no man died and then in 4 days it's the end of the world so no regrets!
Otherwise, failed on what? Physical preparation, peda, theory, practice?

I didn't miss the selections for one reason more than another. Well, I was sick that week. Impossible to breathe normally, to sleep normally.
In detail, we were 8 on Monday morning, and 4 on Monday evening. Then there were 2 of us at the end of the second half-day. Then there was only one left on the evening of the second day. Then came 2 other participants (mf28, N1) who followed the 4 remaining days.
In the end, there were 20 places on the Antibes Creps.
What I understood from the debrief of the antibes creps with the maximum of impartiality on my part:
According to the regulations, I am N3 (like the 6 others eliminated) even if we have different school courses, or diving instructor (there was a PADI Course Director), and I therefore had to participate in the pre-selection of 2 days from Monday and Tuesday. Given that this is the first year, that the regulations allow level 3 (+ first aid training PSE1, and sea license in hand) to participate, the creps is required to receive us for the selection. But there are more participants than places. By talking, I understood that they do not take risks. On the other hand, the DEJEPS level allows teaching at 60 meters and the tutoring of DEJEPS trainees. For my part, I realized while discussing with the creps, that I do not need this level to carry out my project. They really helped me to re-project myself after this cold shower.
So now, I put to redo things already acquired to pass my N4, obtain my Common Trunk, pass my federal MF1, and obtain a State Patent in bridging. Will remain in 2 years, if I wish it, to obtain UC4 of DEJEPS.
To be continued…
Cyril,
Living as a diving instructor is not the problem for me. Most diving clubs achieve a turnover of barely 100Keur. Out of the question for me to lead a project for such a low turnover, to struggle to find and have N4 / MF1 work voluntarily to get by and do boat transport for armed groups (who come self-supervised and equipped ). However, in France, the legislation on diving is very restrictive when considering recreational diving. Of course, in France, it is a sport with a high level of requirement (we speak of a specific environment). This is surely the reason why France trains the best instructors in the world, but unfortunately they have not learned anything in business and marketing.
My challenge will be to demonstrate that diving is a cool, cool, cool, high tech and fun activity. And I hope that I will have clients to cross a significant turnover bar to live properly.
Yeah, his walk !!!
We can talk about the best instructors again ...
On the marketing side, it is not in training because as in most training courses we pull on the hours and not the time… It is not the most important, even if it is!
Diving is fun is the motto of PADI! You should probably think about it ...
FOR what is to live properly ... Start by working in diving and we'll talk about it ...
If your project is to open a structure without having experience ...
Good luck!!
Hi christophe, I am preparing the same project as you, your exchanges of messages have helped me a lot. Little question: what book or site are you using to prepare yourself? Good luck for the rest of your projects
Hi floriane duc-bragues
For my part, the first part of this new life has ended. I passed my BEES1 last October. And now I am in the process of creating my diving structure in the Var. I am delighted with this. And if I can help you with your project, don't hesitate. What exactly are you up to? What degree do you want to obtain? A lot of the things I experienced last year went without a book!
Hello Christophe, I would love to come spend a few days in the var to discuss your project face to face because I would like to embark on the same adventure as you!
Waiting for your answers,
Sincerely,
Gaetan!
Hi all who follow me.
That's it, I'm opening my diving club in Cap Camarat (Ramatuelle, 83) on Pampelonne beach.
Visit the website http://www.capcamaratplongee.com or type “diving in saint tropez” in google. You will see my club is at the top of the list.
After having had a crazy year (N4, Common Core, MF1 and BEES1 in less than 6 months), I created my company (HR Consulting, First Aid, Diving), and now I buy my club. That is the beautiful side. The less beautiful side is that there is too much paperwork in France, you have to move everyone, sell my house in Ile de France, find accommodation, find a job for my wife, register in another region (one would believe to change country !!!)…. In short, the galley in some ways. However, what is projected later is much more beautiful than all these galleys.
See you soon. And come dive with me. Make yourself recognized: password “scubapeople”
Yesssseuuu !! I laughed by rereading the thread of the conversation, it's been two years since it started! WELL DONE !! Great success. I'll come see you - we're neighbors (Antibes). I saved the password !!
