a bold project
For the return of the classes at the Mourré Rouge in Cannes, the association Naturdive launches a bold and unprecedented project. Throughout the year, children of a class cm1 / cm2 will participate in the creation of a marine educational area.
A marine educational area
A "marine educational area" (AME) is a small coastal sea area that is managed in a participatory way by pupils and teachers in a primary school. It is an educational and eco-citizen project aimed at promoting the enrichment of knowledge and protection of the marine environment by young audiences. Thus, placed within a territorial dynamic appealing to the expertise of the school and the municipality concerned, the class maintains a network of exchanges between students and user associations or environmental protection .
Supported by the Cannes city hall, the project will allow children to better understand this environment, to strengthen their sense of eco-citizenship, and to be part of a desire to preserve the natural marine environment. This initiative also takes its full place within a sustainable development policy by establishing a new balance between the community and the environment.
Transmission to future generations
It is important that future generations become aware of the treasures of our precious and unique Mediterranean. We can only encourage the birth of such steps, counting, among other things, on an expansion of its transmission. Students in the classes concerned will be given the roles of leading protagonists. Their mission will be to organize a children's council for the sea.
Children's Council for the Sea
During these councils, the children will be able to meet and discuss the various axioms imagined to intensify the maritime protection. These actions will be defined by the schoolchildren themselves. The resulting process will take place in two stages. In the first place, it will be a question of establishing an inventory of the AME. Then, guided by their teachers, they will be able to set up action plans to improve the area.
Although very young, Naturdive is an association which, in the space of two years, has stood out in the natural protection landscape through many daring projects. Details concerning the operating methods of this association will soon be the subject of an article to appear in our pages. In the meantime, we invite you to discover the site of Naturdive
