I was aware of the existence of this facility, but until today, it was private and everything about it was a total mystery. This incredible place is now open to the public: the deepest pool in the world is in Dubai a whopping, 60m deep. A new record for the Emirate, which has always liked to stand out with unique projects. Dubai is now on the dive map and is a diving destination that will attract many divers.
This pool is a true feat of engineering. It took many years to complete the project and I cannot imagine how much concrete was required or how much effort has been put in to be able to contain such a force – it truly is nothing short of a marvel. Imagine: 14 million liters of water is no small feat! One more record which, moreover, today has been recorded in the Guinness book. It only takes 6 hours to empty the pool through state-of-the-art mechanisms. That represents more than 2 million liters of water in an hour! Just thinking about all those gallons of water makes me dizzy.
