What is new in this volume 2?
Tome 1 includes 58 dive sites on the following lakes: Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchâtel, River Areuse, Lake Annecy (France), Lake Joux, Lake Thun, Lake Maggiore and Valle Verzasca . Tome 2 takes these bodies of water with new sites. But new lakes have been added: Lake Schiffenen, Lake Gruyere, Lake Bret, Various bodies of water in the canton of Valais, Aare, Thielle, Lake Constance, Val Maggia, and the caves of Vallorbe (caving). By totaling the two guides, I arrive at 130 dive sites mapped. 3 sites have been supplemented in 2.
How is each site presented?
Each site has a sheet in A5 format: on the left, the text, and on the right an orthophoto (that is to say an image obtained by processing an aerial photograph whose geometry has been straightened so that each point is superimposable to a flat map corresponding to it). The relevant indications are noted, and a route is proposed according to wrecks, curiosities, cliffs, strainers, etc. present. The strainers and the Thusy bridge, 82 meters long and submerged, in the artificial lake of Gruyère are the subject of a typical cut. The tab structure of the 1 volume is maintained, in order to keep a good interaction and a fast reading between the two guides. In the 2, I added a section Swiss and French Legislations, which deal with laws and decrees concerning navigation and fishing, as well as diving. France is affected by the French shore of Lake Geneva, as well as Lake Annecy. The dives are noted according to their difficulty, 1 to 4 (some sites allow to mix the palanquées, according to the levels), and their interest.
Are they shore dives or boat dives?
Both: some dives are to be done only by boat, others are directly from the shore in complete independence.
What advice would you give to those who wish to experience lake diving?
And to believe divers who say that our lakes and rivers offer beautiful shows in cold water, certainly, but clear, and that the fauna and flora are rich. Then go to a diving school to do a baptism, then his first patent. Our bodies of water are the best training grounds to feast at sea during holidays!
How is your guide distributed?
It is on sale at all participating dive shops. In addition, it is also present in the Payot bookstores in all of Switzerland. The Swiss Federation of Underwater Sports (FSSS) also offers it from its website www.fsss.ch. It is also found on my website, www.sitesdeplongee.ch
The final word ?
A big thank you to all my partners for their help in the realization of this guide.
