A surprise at the Gabinière
The day is so beautiful that leaving Hyères we decide to head for Port-Cros. This will be an opportunity for my diving companions and me to sign the Diver's Charter and offer us a day of happiness in the magical waters of the National Park. We leave on the eastern slope of the Gabinière, and it keeps its promises: all the wildlife is at the rendezvous, beautiful gorgonians complete the picture, and the pleasure is already complete. But by starting the ascent, at the bend of a rock in the zone of 20 meters, I will make the meeting that I waited for a long time.
The monkfish takes the pose
A superb monkfish is there, crouching against the rock. It is huge, at first glance it must be nearly four feet long. I approach, she does not move, I advance further and she still does not run away. I then start to take a series of pictures and even a macro of the eye, she is so docile and patient ... My monkfish will give me a good ten minutes before moving away quietly to another part of the wall. It's time for me to go back up to my bearings. Another dream day in our beautiful blue ...
