Is it dangerous to come to the Philippines?
Since the recent events perpetrated by a small group of Abu Sayaf on a few very localized points of the Philippines, the Equation team regularly receives requests for advice on the situation in the country and the risks of a trip to the Philippines compared to a terrorist threat. Today it is our duty to inform you about the real security conditions in the Philippines.
Since the recent events that the European media have evidently hastened to relay with the greatest possible subjectivity, we have analyzed the situation in the Philippines with the utmost objectivity.
What we can say today is that, as a whole, the country has no more risk than any country in Europe or the United States.
Obviously, there are areas in the Philippines that are very strongly discouraged, they have been for decades: the island of Mindanao and southern Palawan. Apart from these destinations, we do not have the impression that there is a risk of terrorism or kidnapping on tourist destinations such as Panglao where we are, but also other islands of the Visayas where our local partners have us. meant the same reassuring words. It therefore does not appear to be more risky than before to visit the Visayan islands in safety.
There is currently no threat in the Philippines with the exception of Mindanao, which is nearly 400 kilometers from Bohol and in even more remote southern Palawan.
The unfortunate event that took place in a Casino in Manila was revealed as the work of a psychologically unstable man unrelated to terrorism.
The Equation team is at your entire disposal for any questions relating to safety in the Philippines, but also to help you organize your trip to the Visayas, your arrival in Manila or Cebu, your dives in Bohol, Negros, Malapascua or Moalboal. We will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is simply perfect, as we have done for 4 years, since the creation of Equation, and that we have fallen in love with this beautiful country.
See you soon !

I spent 28 days in the Philippines, on 4 different islands and really no problems with
security. Guards, police watch, in all discretion (much more than in France).
