SHARKS NEWS - All may not be lost yet, and US representative Thomas Strickland is hoping for a reopening of the debate tomorrow: but for the moment, CITES is refusing to list three species of sharks on four proposed. Only the porbeagle, in the current state of decisions, will see its trade controlled. On the other hand, scalloped hammerhead sharks, long-legged sharks, and spiny dogfish should continue to be fished unchecked.
