Whenever I am in the field and meet divers, the question never really lags, it touches all levels, from beginner to experienced diver and is often a recurring concern.
There are different techniques which have all more or less proved their worth: toothpaste, lighter ... over the years, I have realized that in order to fight against this major drawback, I always apply the same formula because I finds it effective.
The only problem is that each time I start my explanations, I see the faces of the people who have just asked me the question close as the presentation of this technique which nevertheless gives me full satisfaction ...
Having just changed my mask, I decided to film the anti-fog maneuver in order to prove by the image that it does not damage the mask. But stop talking:
how to?
- Boil water in a saucepan,
- Let the mask soak for 30 seconds directly in the pan (holding it by the strap to prevent the skirt from coming into contact with the bottom of the pan),
- Remove the mask from the pan,
- Coat the mask with a knob of toothpaste,
- Use a toothbrush to rub the mask with toothpaste,
- Immerse the mask in boiling water again and scrub with the toothbrush to remove the toothpaste.
- Rinse with clean water and let cool.
Good dives without steam 😉
