We have traveled more than 5000 kilometers in a scooter in the most remote corners in search of authentic Bali. We wanted to know in depth this island of Gods and its smiling people.
The Balinese opened their doors to us, invited to participate in their ceremonies and explained their customs. From the modest fisherman of Amed to the grandson of the King of Karangasem, all welcomed us warmly, happy to see a couple of Westerners become passionate about their traditions.
From these meetings was born a book that we wished the most complete possible.
Each region of Bali has interactive maps for easy navigation.
Religion and Balinese community life are explained in detail.
The arts are honored with the meeting of painters, sculptors and talented musicians.
Traditional crafts are not left out with the discovery of fishing junkung, salt harvesting, sandstone mines or the sarong factory in Ikat.
More than 1000 commented photos support the texts throughout the book. They make this book a unique and colorful guide to Bali.
We also explored all the diving sites on the island. A chapter, with maps of diving areas and photos of this incredible underwater wealth is dedicated.
