A project to open a shark fin processing plant is under consideration in Spain in Tenerife.
We've seen this before with ivory and the rhino horn trade. It's the extinction trade looming again, except this time sharks are the target.
It is scandalous and if the project comes to an end, Spain will not come out of this announced massacre of a species which is currently the most threatened in the oceans.

Thank you Patrick, I wanted to read more! For Marie-Aline, Christophe, Laurent, Anne-Violaine, Ludovic & Géraldine, obviously these are steeples, but if we don't chat, there is no more exchange! Let's mobilize to say no to the opening of this factory….
Let us remember that the European Parliament wishes to reinforce the loopholes in the law prohibiting the practice of finning (EC regulation n ° 1185/2003) and that if the opening of this factory is done, it will be against this law.
The shark finning only uses less than 5% of the shark since it consists in cutting the fins of the sharks and throwing the mutilated bodies back into the sea. What could be more horrible and unnecessary since it leads to the death of sharks and all? this to supply the Hong Kong market.
Imagine yourself without legs and without fins !!!
The role of sharks is essential for marine ecosystems… SO LET'S SAVE THE SHARKS !!!!
