The shark seen in Cagnes-sur-mer was ... very probably a dolphin

According to firefighters, the terrible shark that sowed terror on the Côte d'Azur on Monday, leading to swimming bans on several beaches (Cagnes-sur-mer, Villeneuve-Loubet and Saint-Laurent-du-Var) was in fact very probably a dolphin, found dead Tuesday on the island of Saint-Honorat, off Cannes.

The female dolphin died following a difficult childbirth during which her uterus filled with water, swelling and weighing down the animal's body, which alternated in an erratic way plunging to the bottom and rising to the surface, as testified by people who saw the animal on Monday.
