Los Roques is a small paradise in the Venezuelan Caribbean located 1 hour by plane (small planes 😉 from Isla Margarita and 45 minutes from Caracas international airport.
It is a real diving paradise!
This archipelago consists of a main island (El Gran Roque), more than 40 cayos, 300 sandbanks and an impressive amount of coral reefs which occupy an area of 221.120 hectares! This coral complex is surrounded by a 36 km wide and 24 km high coral reef.
As this park is a protected area, there is a great variety of corals in good condition. The conditions for diving are excellent all year round.
The National Park Archipiélago Los Roques is the first marine park in the Caribbean and is rich with 90% of the species of fish and corals listed in the Caribbean. There are also 92 species of birds.
It is truly a treasure to be preserved for our future generations.
At the beginning of the last century, the first fishermen from Isla Margarita began to take an interest in the Roques and gradually settled down with their families. The Los Roques Archipelago is located 150km north of Caracas.
immersions
The dive sites are very diverse, ranging from a depth of about fifteen meters to observe the reefs and their inhabitants, to impressive drop offs when exiting passes ...
The vast diversity of immersions allows divers of all levels to find their happiness in complete safety.
You can dive all year round in Los Roques. The water temperature is 26 ° C in winter (December to April) and 28 ° C from May to November.
Visibility is good all year round. (between 25 and 30 meters).
To get there, it is better to go through a travel agency because plane tickets are not easy to find alone.
