After 2 days of traveling, an evening in Mexico City near the Zocalo, a day in Cabo San Lucas by the sea and some good Mexican restaurants, we finally board the Nautilus Explorer. 24 hours of navigation separate us from the island of San Benedicto and our first dives… Despite a few stealthy hammerhead sharks, the first dives in the Canyon do not meet our hopes.
On the eighth day we discover Roca Partida, the smallest island in the volcanic archipelago of Revillagigedo. This rock in the open sea, amazing on the surface with its 3 summits whipped by waves, reveals all its magic under water. Cradled by the song of whales and the swell, we walk these vertiginous drop-offs where dozens of white tips are piled in holes. Around the site and in the blue cross sharks albimarginatus, silky, hammer, schools of bonito, trevallies and yellow fin tuna ...
After the 4 dives of the day, it is the race instead in the jacuzzi, a Margarita in hand and the spectacle of the whales that jump around the boat ...
Return to San Benedicto and The Boiler for 2 fantastic days surrounded by giant Mantas. Some will even have the chance to finish their stage with dolphins.
The island of Socorro closed for military maneuvers leaves us a taste of too little but we return to Cabo happy with our images ...
Some of us continue the expedition to La Paz where we will spend two beautiful days of diving in Los Islotes with the playful and mischievous sea lions ...
