We are 6 and want to do a diving trip in NC in MAY 2011. We have thought 5 days in the Isle of Pines and 3 in Nouméa. Is it a good plan to stick to that because we are only staying 8 nights?
bj, it is a valid choice but you should know that you will only have one choice of clubs on the Ile des Pins for diving; on the mainland you have more varied sites and different clubs, a good part of which are listed by the following site: http://nouvellecaledonieplongee.com/
good bubbles to you
I think coming this far (although I actually don't know where you'll come from ;-)) is definitely worth spending a little bit more time.
If this is unfortunately not possible I think you can optimize your stay.
This is generally what travel agents or journalists do when they come to “cover” New Caledonia.
Three days in Noumea and five in Ile des Pins is too much in my opinion !!!
You could rent a vehicle (like a mini bus) and go around Grande Terre. Bourail, Koumac, Hienghène and Poindimié seem essential to me (especially Hienghène of course since it's my home ;-)))
If you had time Lifou is also to see ;-))
For such a short time, you could perhaps entrust the organization of your stay to specialized TO?
Do not hesitate if you need info or answers to specific questions - Thierry.
Hello Thierry,
thank you for your reply,
we are from Reunion Island and indeed we don't have more time.
we will therefore request proposals from a TO.
best regards
