A bluefin tuna was sold on Wednesday at a record price of almost 300.000 euros at the first auction in Tsukiji, the largest fish market in the world, in Tokyo.
The 342-kilogram specimen, caught off the northern island of Hokkaido, was purchased by two sushi restaurant owners in Japan and Hong Kong, which had already won the highest bid in January 2009 and 2010.
