In order to better understand and protect the Greenland Shark, GEERG is seeking funding to create the first online shark visual observation system in Baie-Comeau. This webcam would allow us to visually study the Greenland shark in the only known place in the world where this species is observable at shallow depths. The images would be accessible to the general public, schools and institutions in Baie-Comeau and elsewhere to promote conservation of the environment and sharks, as well as to showcase the rich underwater heritage of the Baie-Comeau region. Comeau.
Diving operations are expensive and require a lot of equipment and preparation. The disturbance caused by the divers has an effect on the activities of the shark, which prevents us from observing its natural behavior. The webcam would allow us to study the shark and live habitat 24 hours a day. Anyone with access to the Internet could make their own observations.
Millions of sharks are killed for their fins every year. Several species have already been decimated and the Greenland shark is now in the sights of some for its fins. And yet, we still know very little about its population, its distribution and its biology. Our online visual observation system would allow us to make important discoveries about this shark and its habitat.
Please vote for our project and help us study and protect the Greenland shark in Baie-Comeau and the St. Lawrence.
thank you in advance

I knew a little Tahitian in the bay of Kouaoua in New Caledonia and the kid was stung through her blouse.
She had the good fortune to say goodbye to her family, who as she collected seashells at low tide.
I have a big collection of cypreas but I like the cones and the geographical one only appears in one copy in the cupboard. That says it all….
Voted ! Nice project.
