Ailerons has been carrying the sea devil's participatory science program since 2009. In 2019 Ailerons is organizing its first field mission, for 2021 the third expedition will take place in June. These expeditions allow, among other things, to observe the devil of the sea in its natural environment, to better understand its movement. To do so, GPS beacons are deployed but also DNA samples are taken. The last mission was a success crowned by the installation of the first beacon on an individual in the French Mediterranean.
As of May 18, the campaign that raised funds for the next expedition has reached its 100% goal, however, for about two more weeks the campaign will still be active. The campaign is extended to allow the purchase of a life raft which is always useful in case of damage, especially in the middle of the sea. For your generous donations there are various rewards which you can benefit from depending on the amount of your donations, Ailerons needs you to finalize this great project.
