I planned for the next few weeks to go diving with Bulldog sharks in Playa del Carmen in Yucatan, Mexico. Here is an email I just received:
Sandra Munzert sent you a message on iDive Sharks
Subject: bull sharks
------------
Hello Kjeld,
> something awful happened !!! We were spotting & already diving with the first sharks of the season. But one week ago they disappeared
from one day to another. We were wondering until we heard
Fisherman from Puerto Morelos was fishing for sharks last saturday. HEY
KILLED 9 BULLSHARKS !!! 7 of where pregnant females! He killed them
all in one day! These were the first sharks of the season… all dead!
Some females we recognized, are coming here for years
babies. 50 dead pubs were taken out of the dead females. You can not
imagine in what a rage most of the various are. We could identify this
guy who did it, now we are putting all of our power together
something about it. We need justice & we need to protect all sharks
in the future, that something like this is not happening again. Today we
have created a webpage & a petition I ask you to sign in. There you
can also find an article from the newspaper, they wrote about the
'bloody saturday'. We need much signatures a possible for creating a law
to protect sharks in Playa del Carmen & area. Thank you very much,
Sandra.
help us to reign in such barbarities by signing the petition on

hello man,

See U
I was in Sipadan in 2008, I didn't see any mantas or hammers, I'm starting to understand why!
This remains in my top 5 dive destinations and these photos make me cold in the back.
We wonder what the military are used for on the island, who hug as soon as a little diver jumps from the boat ... when I asked them, they replied that they were protecting turtles from tourists (because we don't talk about Jolo there)! And we talk even less about poachers.
Ziad, I just sent an email too. However the link did not work. I put the text back.
Fight for rays and sharks!

Dear Sir or Madam,
Malasia, especially around Sipadan, I am writing to you. This fauna belongs to the human patrimony and represents a great deal of tourists visiting Malaysia: https://scuba-people.com/profiles/blogs/de-mauvaises-niouses-de?xg_source=activity
We sincerely need your help and we can not foresee any further promotion of this disaster. Sipadan in particular and mother nature in general.
Yours sincerely,
Hello Madam Hello sir,
We are sending this email to urge you to immediately ban fishing for sharks and manta rays, which are a world heritage, particularly around the island of Sipadan: https://scuba-people.com/profiles/blogs/de-mauvaises-niouses-de?xg_source=activity
We need your help and your intervention and we can not conceive the promotion of Malaysia without immediate effect and intervention of your authorities to stop this slaughter.
Receive our warmest greetings,
