Hello everybody
I seek your opinion on the Dominican Republic, for those who know.
In the perspective of going to soak our fins in the warmth this winter, I looked with a friend (N2 and about 80 dives each) on a few budget destinations.
After reading a magazine on the theme “where to dive this winter”, we stopped on a rather laudatory article on the Dominican Republic, at least in the cheap category (around 1000 € per week), knowing that we break the piggy bank every year, but that the little pig is thin ...
I did not find a “REP. DOM. ” on Scubapeople and finds very little return on the net. It seems that Samanà Bay is the best choice…? Is it really a nice destination?
Can you advise / advise us if you know the region? We made our first trip in warm waters this spring in the Red Sea on the Hamata side, and keep a great memory, we would not want to crash for the choice 2013 out of respect for our little piggy-piggy bank :))
Thanks in advance to the whole community!
Camille

superb demonstration!
Bravo
Why not stay in the Red Sea? No time difference, +/- 4 hours of flight, qualified / certified, experienced centers ... and best quality / price ratio for all budgets. With 80 dives you can't be jaded 😉 For example, I really enjoyed Dive Center, Hotel The Oasis, Marsa Alam, Egypt http://www.wernerlau.com/en/diving/egypt/red-sea/marsa-alam/the-oasis/diving-center-thme_22.html … There are others of course, in ecolodge etc… The plane leads the budget, so at the same price, you will have better services on a closer destination. @ + alain
