To your photos! The Festisub contest is launched, you have a little more than two months to send your photos, and choose, or not, between the three categories. And participate from the inside in the Swiss underwater image festival!
MAKE YOUR SHIPMENTS BEFORE DECEMBER 20
The Festisub photo contest is officially open since October 1st, and you can send your photos until December 20. This year again, three categories are proposed: "duo macro", which as its name suggests must have two macro images (50 to 105 millimeters) with possibility to present 3 photo sets; "Super wide angle duo" (8 to 17 millimeters), where again the selection will be done on two images with the possibility of presenting three different games; and finally "fresh water", according to the same principle, but this time with complete freedom in the choice of optics. All images must be sent on CD / DVD or USB drive, and participation is free. You can participate in one, two, or three categories.
JOIN THE JURY!
Michel Lonfat is currently in the process of constituting the jury… “Some, who were already part of it this year, he explains, have already answered the call: Davide Vezzarro (one of the greatest underwater photographers today www.davidezzaro.com); Phil Simha of Sunfish Production - the must-have in the world of diving; Sven Tramaux, a very good and passionate underwater photographer. I also surround myself with professional photographers who do not scuba dive - this in order to have an “other” look at the image… (http://www.guillaumeperret.com/)…. Last year, Michel received nearly 700 photos, from 65 participants from 12 different countries. We must therefore stand out: "As I say every year to the participants: put yourself in the shoes of the jury - and above all surprise them!" It is also necessary to respect the data of the competition and especially to be aware of the regulations ... And beware, the organizers insist: to be in agreement with its goals and its values, Festisub insists that the photos submitted to its competition are neither faked nor carried out in conditions that do not respect the environment.
FRESHWATER
Specificity of the Swiss competition, the place given to fresh water: “this is a theme that is really close to our heart, insists Michel, since Switzerland has no sea! And what we have noticed in recent years is that the theme of Freshwater is not obvious to a large majority of photographer. But over time, we see a clear improvement in the quality of the photos. Which is very encouraging… For the other choices of themes, we have varied each time, with the aim of reaching as many photographers as possible, but also to see the mastery of underwater photography techniques that photographers are developing. "
APPOINT 8 AND 9 MARCH NEXT TO NEUCHÂTEL
The first three in each category will be exhibited at the next edition of Festisub, which will take place this year on March 8 and 9. Exhibition which will eventually be supplemented by other photographs that caught the attention of the jury even if they are not part of the winning trio. And even if you are not a photographer, this year you will be able to see your name on the walls of the festival: Festisub, in search of financial support to continue to develop the event, is now offering to become a member of “La palanquée Festisub”. In exchange for 25 euros, your name will be written on the giant screen as a thank you.
And this year again, we look forward to seeing you at the Swiss festival of image since we have discovered this event, we are there every year. The program is not yet fully established but we will present it in detail as soon as possible. A great moment of sharing to come!

Hi Christophe, Thank you for the additional explanations, I had already taken a look at Manu's link last night because this diploma was totally unknown to me. Course a bit complicated indeed, but worth a try and a plan B, it's good to have planned it. For getting back into shape, yes, I think it is mandatory (I prepared for 3 months for the N4, swim in the morning before going to the office and between noon and two, I had the impression of 'be soaked all day…!) I am 15 km from Antibes, if you have a hard time, you can activate my email! Good luck and high hearts!
