I photographed this ovula in one of the faults of the “Pointe aux Cachalots” site
(Hienghène - New Caledonia) on a huge gorgon.
I obtained his identification with the help of Anthony Leydet.
It is :
Kingdom Animalia | |
Phylum Mollusca | |
Class Gastropoda | |
Order Mesogastropoda | |
Family Ovulidae | |
Genus Phenacovolva | |
Phenacovolva angasi (Reeve, 1865) |
Above the gorgon on which this ovula lives.
This gorgon is not uncommon here but I only found this ovula on this one.

Personally I support Sea Shepherd and Captain Paul Watson in his fights (sharks, whales, seals, dolphins, etc.)
